Meez-stonesis

So I've always enjoyed the thought of penguins after reading Mr. Popper's Penguins by the Atwaters (there's a great story about how that was published).

RSSSssssssssssssss

Hmm, the next "thing" is asking me to sign up for the Bloglines RSS feed. I've been RSS-ing since last fall when HCL introduced RSS feeds as on option through our catalog. I have 17 feeds on my Google Reader account. Right now they run the gamut of Library Journal, Washington Post, Library of Congress, Newsweek and
this place , too. And the story about that will come another day.....

Sorry, no bubble gum included

Flicker and its utilities strike again.
Well, Nancy Pearl and her doll manufacturers may never come knocking, but it was fun to think about what to put on the card!

Thing 2(thank you Dr. Seuss)

Ahhh, the infamous Power Point. I'm awfully glad that I could read the script on the side and not have to listen to the whole thing. I'm more of a reading/writing preferences person (VARK). While I don't draw beautiful baseball stadia (you know who you are!) during meetings, I usually take copious notes.

You can call it chatter, but.....

It's amazing how much of my job is schmoozing. And it's also some of the most fun since I get to share that I have the best job in the world. Of course the two people in this picture with me know this: Brian Auger, associate director of HCL, and my wonderful husband, John.

The Brave New World

Except that some of it isn't so new. While not an accomplished Facebooker, I still shock teens when I announce that I have my own Facebook or that I have set up a group (Howard County Library--Miller Branch). When my peers ask why, it's simple: I want to know what's out there and it's a great way to see what my kids, their friends, and my younger peers are doing!
